This is my first time at a Spa. What can I expect?
When you enter the Spa, check-in at the reception desk. The Spa receptionist will escort you to the Locker Room to take a shower and change into a robe and spa sandals. You will be assigned a locker with key to store your clothes and personal affects.

As you relax in the peaceful Spa lounge, you will be asked to fill out a brief consultation card to provide the therapist with details on your physical state. Please note that all information is strictly confidential and will be used solely for the purpose of your treatment. You may be asked to choose massage oil for your treatment, so inhale the scents of four chocolate oils or four aromatherapy oils to make your selection. Then please take a few moments to relax, unwind and escape.

When it's time for your service your therapist will escort you to a treatment room and discuss your treatment. The therapist will then leave the room so you can disrobe and lay on the treatment table under a sheet and/or blanket.

Now relax and let the stress melt away.

How early should I arrive for my treatment?
Please check in at the Spa reception desk at least 15 to 30 minutes prior to your appointment time so you can review your reservations, fill out a consultation card, and have time to relax in the sauna and Spa lounge before your treatment. Stop by the Spa reception desk at least one hour prior to treatments on Renaissance Island and collect your treatment voucher(s).

I booked a treatment at the Spa Cove. What can I expect?
You can expect the ultimate in privacy and relaxation on the only private beaches in Aruba. When you pick up your vouchers at the Spa reception desk, the Spa attendant will direct you to our private water taxi to Renaissance Island and once on the island, directions to the private Cove. Depending on the package you booked, you will be offered Champagne or a frozen drink. The Spa Cove also has an open air shower available.

Should I tip my therapist?
Yes, tips are not included in the price.

Can I take my Spa experience home with me?
Absolutely. Browse through the Spa’s Pevonia spa products, including cleansers, creams and anti-aging products. Shipping is not available, so please be sure to purchase your products while on property.

Is there anything I should avoid prior to a spa treatment?
We recommend that you refrain from eating one hour prior to receiving a massage or body treatment. Also refrain from drinking alcohol before any spa treatment. For your comfort during the treatments, we ask that you do not shave in the 24 hours before your appointment.

What should I expect during my massage? Will I be covered?
You will be covered with towels and sheets throughout your massage. However, you may wear minimal undergarments if that makes you more comfortable. The most important thing is to be relaxed.

How far in advance do I need to book a Spa treatment?
Due to the demand for treatments, we recommend scheduling your spa appointments prior to arrival. You can then be sure that your preferred spa experience is ready and waiting for your arrival. To make an appointment in advance, e-mail spa@arubarenaissance.com or call 011-297-583-6000, ext. 6176.

If you would like to schedule an appointment once you arrive at the Resort, please call Delighted to Serve or visit the Okeanos Spa reception desk.

Is there someone to help me decide which treatments are best for me?
Yes. A Spa Receptionist can help you plan a program to suit your needs and interests. Click here to learn more about the types of treatments we have available.

Can the Spa accommodate group bookings?
Yes. We offer great packages for private parties, such as bachelorette treatments or girlfriend getaways. Please contact the Spa if you would like to make reservations for group bookings.

What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel your treatment, please call 4 hours in advance of your appointment or 24 hours in advance of a Spa Cove appointment. There will be a 50% charge for missed appointments or appointments cancelled late.

How do I prepare for my Spa visit?
We suggest you wear comfortable clothing and do not bring jewelry or valuables to the Spa. A plush Spa robe and sandals will be provided for you. We will provide you with a locker for your personal belongings. For your convenience, we provide shower facilities. We provide towels, shampoo, conditioner, body shampoo, hair dryers and other personal care items.

Can I ask my therapist to make adjustments for my comfort?
Yes. Your feedback is essential in providing you with the best service possible. After all, this is your treatment. Feel free to communicate with the staff regarding room temperature, pressure, technique, etc. We value your feedback.

Are there any health conditions that I need to disclose before my appointment?
Yes. Please share any recent injuries or tender spots with your therapist to ensure the most enjoyable treatment. Also please mention any severe illnesses that are still being treated, like chemotherapy.

Should I visit the Spa if I'm pregnant?
If you are between 3 and 6 months pregnant, you should absolutely visit the Spa. We recommend no treatments during the other times of pregnancy. Please mention before making the appointment that you are pregnant.

Are there any health benefits to visiting the Spa?
Yes. The most obvious are the benefits derived from relaxation. Many of the services have therapeutic benefits, all of which are intended to help your body restore its natural balance.

Will I have to disrobe entirely?
This can depend on the treatment however undergarments are generally not necessary. The best way to get the full effect of a massage is to disrobe completely. Your body will be covered at all times during the treatment, with the exception of the part of your body the specialist is treating. This will be exposed briefly for treatment and then re-covered. The staff is trained to make sure your privacy is protected at all times. If you are receiving a hydrotherapy service you may wish to bring a bathing suit or we will provide you disposables.

Do I need to take a shower before my treatment?
A shower washes away sunscreen, fragrances and lotions that may interact with products used in your treatment. Warm water also helps prepare your body to receive the full benefits of the Spa products. We recommend you shower before your treatment. For your convenience, we provide towels, shampoo, conditioner, body shampoo, hair dryers and other personal care items

Is there any particular Spa etiquette that I should be aware of?
The Okeanos Spa staff is here to ensure your total relaxation. We strive to make all guests welcome, comfortable and relaxed. As such, we keep our voices low as to not disturb other guests. We ask that you do the same. Also please silence all electronic devices (including cell phones, two-way radios, pagers, etc.) while in the spa as a courtesy to all guests. If you have any additional Spa questions, please e-mail us or speak with our Spa manager on site.

Can I purchase a gift certificate for services you provide?
Yes, we provide gift certificates for all our services. The certificates are good for 6 months from date of purchase. You may also purchase them to any dollar amount, to be used towards any service.

Is Okeanos Spa for women only?
No, Okeanos Spa accepts appointments for men and women. We actually have treatments specifically designed for our male clientele. Men like to be pampered too.
